Bike MS: Vegas Challenge has set a goal to raise $200,000. Fundraising dollars from events like Vegas Challenge help support critical programs, services and research. In the News The National MS Society has committed another $18 million toward new research projects. Some of the projects include:
- Exploring brain cell interactions to shed new light on how damage occurs in MS and how to reverse the process to restore function to people with MS.
- Looking for a way to predict who will experience memory decline due to MS so that treatments to slow or prevent it can be started early.
- Identifying high-quality resources to allow researchers to search for factors that trigger MS in children and adults.

The adventure of the Bike MS experience begins the moment you start training for it. In order to really get started, it is essential to make sure you have all the gear you need. You probably already own a bike, or will be borrowing one. Here are some important things to consider to make sure your bike is up for the challenge:
- Does the bike fit you?
- Are the wheels in good shape?
- Are the chain and cables lubed?
To help you answer these questions, check out our Training Guide or visit one of our Bike Shop Partners. Their experts can help you make sure your bike is in Vegas Challenge condition and help you pick out accessories like your helmet (an absolute requirement), gloves, shoes, socks and more.
If you have any questions about safety or would like additional resources, we are here to help! Please call us at (702) 736-1478 or email us a CalBike@nmss.org.
