We are officially 4 months away from Bike MS: Vegas Challenge 2013 and summer is getting busy!

Participant Center Tip
Did you know? Bike MS participants who use their online personal pages raise an average of 88% more than participants who don't. Setting up your personal page is fun and easy. Make sure to add a photo and a few sentences on why Bike MS is important to you and why you need your donors' support. Check out our Participant Center Guide for more tips and tricks.

(Please note: if you choose to remove the default personal page photos, please replace with your own photo. The personal page layout requires at least one photo or it will not display properly. If you are experiencing an error with your page or have questions, please contact us at 702-736-1478.)

Approximately 10,000 children in the US have multiple sclerosis. The National MS Society just committed $2.5 million for the Network of Pediatric MS Centers (NPMSC), which now includes Loma Linda University in Southern California. Until now, the University of California, San Francisco was the only pediatric care center west of the Mississippi. The Pediatric Center at Loma Linda University will provide care for children with MS and support research activities that aim to understand childhood MS and unlock the mysteries of MS in adults. “Driving research to improve the care of children affected by MS and determining what triggers this disease is part of our commitment to all people living with MS,” said Dr. Timothy Coetzee, National MS Society chief research officer.

Bryan YglesiasIn addition to funding critical research and providing access to care for children with MS, the National MS Society seeks to change the future of MS through its scholarship program. 2013 scholarship recipient Bryan was diagnosed with MS in 2006 when he was just 12 years old. But he hasn’t let MS stop him from pursuing his goals. He plans to attend college in the fall and hopes to pursue a degree in Business Management with a minor in Kinesiology. One day, he hopes to run his own Physical Therapy business.

FIND YOUR MATCH

Matching gifts are a great way to double or triple your fundraising dollars. And donors' gifts can be matched, too! Most companies' Human Resources departments handle and process matching gifts. Ask your employer about their matching gift policy and get started today. Make sure to ask your donors to speak with their companies so your fundraising meets its full potential. Visit our Matching Gifts page for more information.

TEAM UP AND RECRUIT

Bike MS is more fun with friends and family by your side. If you haven't already, consider forming a team or inviting others to join you for November's event. If you already have a team, it's time to grow! Summer is the perfect time to invite potential team members to fundraisers, team training rides and other cycling events.
